St. Mihiel American Cemetery is situated at the west edge of Thiaucourt, France.
The cemetery is open to the public daily including host country holidays, with the exception of December 25 and January 1. When open, a staff member is on duty in the visitor building to answer questions and escort relatives to grave and memorial sites. Hours of operation are from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Please note, admission to the cemetery ends 15 minutes before closing time.
The cemetery can be reached by automobile from Paris via Verdun and from Metz via toll highway A-4 (E-50), exiting at Fresnes-en-Woëvre (Exit #32). At Fresnes-en-Woëvre, take D-904 in the direction of Pont-à-Mousson.
There is a direct rail service from Paris (Gare de l’Est) to Meuse-TGV (50-minute drive to the cemetery), Lorraine TGV (30-minute drive to the cemetery). The closest train station is Pont-à-Mousson (20-minute drive to the cemetery).
Hotels are available in Metz, Nancy, Pont-à-Mousson, and Heudicourt.
