American Battle Monuments Commission unveils redesigned website

New website enhances tools, access to the stories and sacrifice of American servicemen and women

ARLINGTON, Va. (March 4, 2025) — The American Battle Monuments Commission is pleased to announce the launch of its newly redesigned website, aimed at providing visitors with a more streamlined, user-friendly, and immersive online experience. The redesigned site, located at www.abmc.gov, improves accessibility, offers better navigation, and features updated content to help those interested in learning about the ABMC’s mission, cemeteries, monuments or memorials, and the sacrifice of American servicemen and women.

The revamped website reflects ABMC’s ongoing commitment to honoring the legacy of those who have served in the U.S. armed forces, emphasizing education and ensuring that the stories and the places of remembrance are widely accessible.

Key improvements to the website include:

  • Enhanced navigation: A more intuitive design allows visitors to easily access information on ABMC cemetery pages, through tabs like “Plan Your Visit” and “Discovery the History.”
  • Mobile optimization: The site is fully responsive, ensuring a seamless experience across all devices, including smartphones and tablets.
  • Interactive features: Interactive maps, virtual site experiences, and a searchable database of service members to enhance exploration of ABMC’s worldwide sites and learn about individual stories.
  • Updated content: Fresh, engaging content—including historical context, visitor information, and a robust multimedia database—bring the stories of service members to life.
  • Improved accessibility: The redesigned website adheres to the latest accessibility standards, ensuring that everyone, including individuals with disabilities, can easily access and engage with content.

“We are proud to launch this new website, which is one of our most important outreach tools to connect with the public and engage them in the commemoration of the service members who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom,” said Charles K. Djou, ABMC Secretary. “The new design of the ABMC website is part of a broader effort to modernize the agency’s digital platforms and provide a better visitor experience both online and at ABMC sites around the world.”

The site will also serve as a powerful educational resource, offering teachers, researchers and other visitors a deeper understanding of the history and significance of ABMC’s sites through the individual lives and experiences of those buried and commemorated by the agency.

“We hope to reach generations well into the future through these powerful stories,” said Djou. “More than a century after our founding, we are excited to continue sharing this part of our nation’s history through new and innovative ways that reflect the evolving nature of sacrifice.”
