The American Battle Monuments Commission releases documentary to mark a hundred years of commemoration

On March 4, 2023, the American Battle Monuments Commission (ABMC) celebrated its centennial anniversary. To mark a hundred years of commemoration, ABMC released a unique 56-minute documentary, “Our Promise: 100 years of the American Battle Monuments Commission.”

The documentary honors both the sacrifice of our fallen and the dedication of our staff to ensure we fulfill the unique mission given to the American Battle Monuments Commission.

This documentary showcases the agency’s ongoing work to preserve the legacy of those memorialized at our sites as well as the evolution of our mission into a new century of service. It honors both the sacrifice of our fallen, as well as the dedication of our staff to ensure we fulfill the unique mission given to the American Battle Monuments Commission.

For this unique occasion, the documentary was premiered at the National Archives and Records Administration March 3, 2023. There are regional premiere events scheduled around the country throughout 2023.
